Preface:
The development of medical imaging in the past decade has been amazing, with significant advancements in both imaging technology and disease diagnosis. This is particularly true for multi-slice spiral CT, dual-source CT, and high-field strength magnetic resonance equipment's widespread use in clinics. These have greatly enriched imaging research methods and broadened exploration fields, bringing anatomy and structural imaging into the era of functional and metabolic imaging. It has also revealed that many diseases previously assumed to have no "organic" changes, such as neuropsychiatric diseases, also have subtle structural and functional abnormalities. This volume is expertly compiled by well-known domestic experts and scholars, based on the fruits of modern imaging technology, including the rapidly rising functional imaging technology in the central nervous system. It absorbs the new research findings of the past decade that share a unified opinion. It continues the comprehensive and straightforward features of the "Chinese Imaging Medicine" series, but also makes a lot of updates, and uses higher-quality images generated by multi-slice spiral CT and high-field MRI. It has added chapters of psychoradiology, epilepsy, brain degenerative and regressive diseases, spinal trauma, cerebral small vessel disease, and more. During the writing process, the latest industry standard was used as a reference (for example, the WHO classification of central nervous system tumors updated to the 2016 version) to reflect the latest achievements in radiology and highlight the constantly expanding disciplines of radiology. Especially in the forefront of neuroradiology - psychoradiology, China's radiology community is already at the forefront internationally, and its main content is reflected in Chapter 11 of this book.
We feel a great sense of responsibility for the trust given to us by our peers and the People's Medical Publishing House to revise this textbook.
