Preface:
The "Chinese Medical Imaging" series have been well received by readers since they were published, and most of them have been revised and reprinted. However, the "Chinese Medical Imaging Central Nervous System Volume" has not been able to meet with the readers due to various reasons. To fill this gap, we have revised it on the basis of the first edition, and officially published the latest results of central nervous system imaging "Chinese Medical Imaging Central Nervous System Volume" 2nd edition in 2016.
The development of medical imaging over the past 10 years has been remarkable, with significant advancements in imaging technology and disease diagnosis. Especially with the widespread clinical application of multi-slice spiral CT scanners, dual-source CT scanners, and high-field magnetic resonance scanners, imaging research methods have been greatly enhanced and research perspectives widened, introducing anatomic and structural imaging techniques into functional and metabolic imaging age, and revealing many diseases which had no "organic" changes, such as neurological and psychiatric diseases, also exist in the abnormalities of microstructures and functions. This volume is based on the application results of modern imaging technology, including the rapidly rising functional imaging technology in the central nervous system, and absorbs the newest research findings from the past decade which have a unified opinion, minutely compiled by domestic renowned experts and scholars. While continuing the detailed and comprehensive content of the "Chinese Medical Imaging" series, a large number of updates have been made, including higher quality images generated by multi-slice spiral CT and high-field magnetic resonance scanners. At the same time, chapters such as psychiatric radiology, epilepsy, and degenerative and retrograde diseases of the nervous system have been added to reflect the latest results of imaging development and to highlight the ever-expanding discipline of imaging. Particularly in the frontier field of neuro-radiology, Psychoradiology, China's radiology field is already in an international leading position, and its main content is reflected in Chapter 14, "Psychoradiology" of this book.
Entrusted with the task of revision by peers and the People's Medical Publishing House, I feel a heavy responsibility. In the re-editing work for this book, chapter editors revised their drafts multiple times, revised draft after draft, experts reviewed the original manuscript word by word, sentence by sentence, offered many valuable suggestions, enabling this book to maintain a high degree of scientific rigor and readability. I would like to express deep respect and heartfelt thanks for the painstaking work of the editors involved in this volumes' revision. I would like to thank Weina Wang, Xibiao Yang, Qiaoyue Tan, Xu Cheng, and others, who did a lot of tedious and meticulous work during the process of writing this book.
Although all editors and staff have committed themselves to work with great enthusiasm and responsibility, errors and omissions are inevitable due to the limited time for writing work, heavy tasks, and limited level of editors. I would greatly appreciate if readers could point out any errors or omissions.
